    This segment of the Castle Park Trail has been damaged by a previous large runoff of water that has run across the trail and washed out the south side of the trail. Until repaired this section is a potential hazard to hikers and cyclists due to trailside vegetation and the bend of the trail blocking a view of the hazard until you are right on top of it. The drop from the trail into the washout is a good six feet down. The remainder of the trail is at risk of washing out completely due to the damage to the trail accelerating erosion on this section.

    Months of accumulation now has this drain blocked with eucalyptus debris and other material. This section of Castle is really bad with road debris. During a downpour all of the runoff will be diverted down the hill if this drain stays blocked.

    There are numerous spots along Skyline where the street has not been maintained (swept) and drains are clogged with debris. Since there is no bike lane bikes cannot use the side of the roadway due to all of the debris covering the side of the street. Why is this section of Oakland roadways ignored for so much of the year? How about sending a crew before the rains return?
