05/12/2014 A large tree has fallen across the Wissahickon Bike Trail, a hundred yards or so below where the Henry Avenue bridge crosses over the trail.
Also, many parts of the trail are covered with mud left by the recent flooding and need to be cleaned off.
Another open issue nearby issue is:
Forbidden Drive Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
On Mothers day the cars were parked from the parking lot past the Wise's Mill road exit to the very beginning of the park entrance. Both sides of Forbidden Drive were filled with illegally parked cars. The narrow space between was only wide enough for one car to pass at a time. There were families with small children and pets. Walkers, bikers, joggers The congestion was incredible. There are obvious Do Not park signs on both sides of the road. At some point someone is going to get hurt. Why cannot this area be monitored for this illegal behavior. I know the Police have more pressing matters. But what about the PPA. Their job is to manage illegal parking. Why not post one there on weekends and holidays through the spring, summer and fall.

The bike lanes on Umbria Street, across from the golf center, are covered with mud. The problem is caused by poor drainage on the far side. A volunteer from the Bike Coalition cleaned up the worst of it.
This is a recurring problem -

04/14/2014 The stop sign at the bottom of the new ramp for the Schuylkill River Trail is missing. This makes an already poorly-designed intersection even more dangerous; not that many cyclists paid any attention to the now missing stop sign.
The intersection is at Shawmont Avenue and Nixon Street.
Coincidentally the adjacent, extremely ugly and expensive “Great Wall of Shawmont” boondoggle has been covered with graffiti.

The entire stretch of Ridge Ave in Roxborough, from Parker to Cathedral is a mess! There are so many potholes that people are swerving to avoid them, however, on a one lane street, this is EXTREMELY dangerous. PLEASE FIX!!!

04/14/2014 The bike lanes on Shawmont Avenue are again covered with debris, forcing cyclists into the travel lane.

01/20/2014 Poor drainage along the Wissahickon Bike Trail, several hundred yards below its’ intersection with Forbidden Drive, has been causing the trail to become a steeplechase water hazard.
Since the trail was renovated in 2007 with $1.4 million (federal funding), it would seem that there has been little or no maintenance to the bikeway by the city. Vegetation grows out over the path in the summer, and mud and leaves narrow the trail in many sections, dangerously crowding together the mix of cyclists, runners, and walkers.
This drainage problem is just one example of the poor design and construction of the renovation. Other sections of the trail are too low and frequently flood, leaving a covering of mud.

Near shawmont station. Concrete barricade placed on path. Makes it difficult to ride through and dangerous. Please remove and replace pole!! Thanks.
