Description

Two way stop on Washington, with an overgrown stop sign on the west side of Washington. When crossing 5th, pedestrians cannot see cars coming up Fifth as they crest the hill, and there is no stop for 5th. No crosswalk, nor any signage warning of pedestrian crossing, etc. Many children live on this block, and it is a bus stop for School 14, which occasionally drops off on the west side of the street (the children all live on the east side of the street, and have to cross). Many times, I have been out trying to cross with my children, and had to jump back because we couldn't see cars coming up the hill (heading south on 5th), and cars refuse to yield for pedestrians already crossing, even more than halfway across the road. Even something as simple as a "children at play" sign would do wonders for this intersection.
