You should contact Alderman Landi and ask him to assist you with this issue.

this has been a problem since it was constructed. what will help? please make sure that the storm drains are cleared at josephine @ delta. THAT is very important!!! most often, people won't clear those drains. it would be a big help!! im sure that mrs.bruns would concur!!

The maintenance has been promised by the city and it has improved. However, after having over 18 inches of water in my garage and watching things floating in my neighbors basement as well as mine (1x for mine)I am fearful about going away at times even for a weekend. Mr. Landi has been involved. In the past he and Mike who lived next to the brook on Washington Avenue have been in the ditch cleaning as have I. The city needs to fix and fix correctly.

The issue is not resolved. They have fixed the pipes on Delta bot not from Delta to the Washington Avenue. The result is the same flooding. Mr. Landi is aware and has been involved for years but has not pushed the subject since it is not fixed. It has damaged many peoples homes on regular rain storms and with Irene has done a lot of damage. Maybe we need new community leadership.

Has anyone contacted the City Engineer Ralph Swenson? He was helpful getting a project in the pipeline in my ward.

There has been little or no relief from the City of Kingston over the years. There has been some lip service but no real action. The lack of leadership in the community is reflected in the general state of the city. It is really bad and getting worse. Now that the sinkhole is there maybe the water will flow into that hole. Lets hope that there are enough brains and other parts in the city to address the problem as a whole and remember the long term existing problems and fix them too rather than acting surprised at the problem even existing.

So the ongoing sink hole repair may fix this? No discussion for a few years - I will close unless this needs to be addressed.

WELL well well. A deep subject. Not as deep as our sink hole though. The saga continues. The flooding continues. The city created this when they allowed the twin ponds to be dried up and replaced with developments for well placed people. They also redirected Tannery Brook at Washongton Avenue so it didn't go across Washington and into property owned by someone else with those connections.
Now we have flooding from where the ponds were down to Delta and Washington. Oh, that's where the sinkhole is!
There have also been damages to water lines that the city refuses to take responsibility for but are in direct line and with in 150 feet of the sink hole. Protected under ground and under porches so no elements while rest of piping is new.
It's just more lack or accountability and responsibility on the part of our leaders and the inept attorneys that represent them.
This flooding and sink hole have become a joke around the area and the country. They are reflective of the joke Kingston has become.

Construction is ongoing to repair the sinkhole. I think a new topic is warranted if problems continue after the construction is complete. Complaints about the construction also deserve a separate issue.
