Description
Something needs to be done about this intersection ASAP. There needs to be a left turn lane or a sign at this intersection that prohibits left turns between 7:45 am - 8 am and again from 3:00 pm - 3:15 pm. Traffic here gets backed up for blocks because one vehicle wants to turn left. This happens every single weekday and is getting worse.

Sara,
The City of Lincoln does not install 15-minute turn prohibition signs.
On May 5th, 2021, a 12-hour study, from 6:30 am – 6:30 pm was conducted at N 70th Street and Leighton Avenue. The study included counts for each vehicle movement (through/turn) and recorded them in 15-minute intervals. Based on the vehicle volumes, turn pockets are not warranted at this time. Additionally, the street width in its current build does not provide enough room for turn pockets.
If you find this route undesirable during these 15-minute periods, please consider using an alternative route.
