Description
As a parent living on south Emerald Lane, I am deeply concerned about the number of cars speeding on our street. We are just one of many families on south Emerald Lane who have young children. The children on south Emerald Lane play in front yards, ride bikes to friends houses, and play ball in driveways. Unfortunately, these have become dangerous activities due to speeding cars. My concern grows as I know many people will be using south Emerald Lane as a detour to avoid the roundabout construction. I believe the city of Carbondale can prevent a devastating accident between car and child with a couple of different measures: 1) decrease the speed from 30 mph to 25 mph, 2) install a radar sign to inform drivers of their speed, 3) install several "Slow Children At Play" signs, and 4) install speed bumps to deter speeding. Please consider my requests for the safety of our children.
Thank you,
Kristi

We continue to be concerned about the speed of cars traveling on south Emerald Lane. Could I please get an update about our request to drop the speed limit to 25 mph? Also, can you please install a "slow children at play" sign.
Thank you,
Kristi
