Description
The bike lane between Powelton Ave and Walnut St on 44th St is very faded. You can just barely see it, and drivers often treat this street as two lanes, blocking the bike lane. The whole street is in bad shape, but even some stripes painted on it would make a big difference. It's very difficult to navigate on a bike during rush hour.

Seems like this should be a priority issue.

the bike lane paint is missing from Market st to Locust st.
Drivers use the bike lane for a car lane between Market st and Walnut st all the time.

"The principal trend that emerges from the papers reviewed here is that clearly-marked, bike-specific facilities (i.e. cycle tracks at roundabouts, bike routes, bike lanes, and bike paths) were consistently shown to provide improved safety for cyclists compared to on-road cycling with traffic or off-road with pedestrians and other users. Marked bike lanes and bike routes were found to reduce injury or crash rates by about half compared to unmodified roadways."

Still no action from the Streets Dept. on this.

9 months later, this has not changed. No progress whatsoever. Bike lanes remain faded and dangerous. Come on, Streets Dept! What's so difficult about painting some stripes?

This STILL has not been fixed. It was "acknowledged" over a year ago. What exactly is the point of 311?

Please, lets get this fixed!
