Description
This is a "T" intersection. At the address listed there is a "STOP" sign. Vehicles constantly run this STOP sign. The SSFPD is aware of the problem here. Every once is a while they'll have an officer park on Hemlock Ave to monitor the STOP sign being run by violators. Being in a school zone area it creates an even greater safety issue. I would like to suggest to the city if they can install a SPEED BUMP at this STOP sign. A speed bump would eliminate this safety issue.

The Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC) discussed and reviewed your request to install speed cushions near the stop sign of Spruce and Hemlock at its October 28, 2020 meeting.
TAC does not recommend installing speed cushions near the stop signs of Spruce and Hemlock as these streets are classified as a collector road. The installation of speed cushions near the stop sign of Spruce and Hemlock could divert speeding traffic onto local, neighboring streets, which these smaller streets don’t have the capacity to handle the increase in traffic and volume.
We have notified the police to make them aware of this issue. And this area has been included as part of the Citizen Assisted Reactive Enforcement (CARE) Program where Police monitor traffic and speeding. The Police Department will monitor traffic and cite speeding vehicles.
If you or any other residents observe vehicles speeding, please contact our Police Department (650) 877-8900 for proper enforcement.
If you have any questions, please contact the Traffic Advisory Committee via email using tac@ssf.net. Thank you for your interest in traffic safety.
Sincerely,
Traffic Advisory Committee
