We must demand this intersection be made safer. In light of two car accidents this morning alone, I'm asking neighbors call the Minneapolis City or 311 and demand changes be made to this intersection (LaSalle and 15th) including: more visible signage, addition of overhanging lights, consideration of a roundabout intersection, reduced and more visible speed limit signage, traffic signal timing changes (longer yellow light), prioritize bicycle and pedestrian traffic (green wave), addition of green bike boxes, installation of corner wedges to protect bike and crosswalks and highlight intersection, raised crossing to highlight intersection, and other necessary changes to make this intersection safer. These roads have been treated as through roads for downtown traffic. These are neighborhood roads and many call this area home, go to church here, or have kids that go to school at Emerson and proper safety changes can and must be made.
