This is called zip code discrimination.
Dear Mayor,
It is not good for one's well being to be constantly subjected to piles of garbage, filth, graffiti, homelessness, human feces, hypodermic needles. You have the power to help to improve people’s quality of life/their mental health by using laws, regulations, and codes already in place that if they were enforced would help to do that.
Please write to the Mayor officeofthemayor@oaklandnet.com
lschaaf@oaklandca.gov.
The more people that write the more she may understand that ZIP CODE DISCRIMINATION is no longer acceptable in Oakland.

When your voices are ignored in the halls of power, then you have no alternative than to use your people power and sue them.

Use people power, get as many of your neighbors involved. Collect evidence, such as complaint logs, ask for the incident number when you call the non-emergency line, take videos, photos. Send a formal complaint via a FedEx envelope to CM McElhaney, to Mayor Schaff, and the Department of Race and Equity.

When you file the suit make sure the local and national media is informed.
