Description
The design of this off ramp is dangerous for pedestrians. I’m requesting the city widen the “mid-block crossing”/ island so that one lane is removed for through traffic. As is, it is unclear if cars in the right lane are turning or going straight. They come at very high speeds and the right turn signal cannot be relied upon as it was used to get off the freeway and many cars simply have not turned it off.
Due to the curve, pedestrians cannot see oncoming traffic before stepping into the right turn lane. The narrowing of the exit by expanding the island would help to slow these right turners down as well.
