Description
Mailman, Jason, has refused to deliver mail for weeks on end. The pathways to the community mailbox are clear yet JASON the mailman claims they are "treacherous." There are elderly here and families with little kids who cannot always be trekking to the post office to get their mail. Please help!

I'm not sure if Kate meant i or L St, but unfortunately I don't deliver either of those streets, so I can't speak for the carrier who decided not to make deliveries. I can, however, let you know that it is the policy of USPS to protect their carriers. At the end of every day, management will ask every carrier if there were any deliveries that were unsafe to make, and they record the addresses. If the carrier wasn't able to get pictures, one of the bosses will go out and look at the property themselves. It is the company's policy that the carriers should not risk injury on property that hasn't been maintained.
Now, I have over 700 deliveries on my route. Each time it snows, I'd say that I have between 12 and 15 properties that have an issue with uncleared sidewalks/walkways - on the first day. By the second day, it's down to about 4 or 5. THIS property was the only one on my route to go WEEKS without having a clear path to the mailbox. I agree 100% that it is the management company's responsibility to take care of this. Unfortunately, the property is still iced over regardless of who is responsible for it. Once the temperatures are in a deep freeze, throwing a layer of sand on 3 inches of solid ice doesn't do anything to help the situation.
So apparently my name is mud in Southie now. Somehow I doubt that. I've had this route for 4 years, and the only complaint I've had is this situation - where the property is unsafe to walk. I've also seen the city leaving numerous citations at this address for not maintaining its walkways - so this isn't a case of the USPS being unreasonable - though I'm sure opinions will vary on that.

No, I'd rather not receive junk mail at all.
Regardless, I now receive all of my bills via email, except for my boat slip dues, which is sent to me by USPS only in the summer.
The only necessary mail I receive in the winter is my annual country club dues. What if I don't receive it in a timely fashion? They know I'm good for it.
Peace out.
P.S. Please stop creating fake accounts to support Lazy Jason. You should be doing ACTUAL postal duties NOT posting to random internet sites.

Stop creating "false accounts' when we should be performing actual Postal duties? Ever hear of coffee break or lunch break? Also, why are our accounts "false", but yours is "real"? Are you somehow more important than the rest of us?
Jason should put on his BIg Boy Pants and do his job? Why don't you put on your Big Girl pants and get your Condo Asso. to hire a plower for the winter months?
Jason should do his job? Jason IS doing his job to the expectations, rules and regulations of his employer - WHO YOU ARE NOT. If Jason was injured trying to deliver your mail, he would be prone to catch disciplanary action and administrative action from his employer, the USPS. That would be in addition to the pain and suffering he might realize from being injured while trying to deliver your mail in an unsafe manner. Jason is not accountable to you. Jason answers to the USPS management.
Kara, you and fellow resident, "B", have attacked Jason online and in person. You tried going through Congressman Lynch's office. Lynch called the Postmaster, the Postmaster called the 02127 station. The 02127 station sent the photos of your property to the Postmaster. The Postmaster sided with Jason. The Postmaster sent the photos to Congressman Lynch's office. He sided with Jason. Jason was instructed to continue to hold your mail. Yet, you still complain.
You label him "Lazy". Who died and left you God? What gives you the right to label anyone? How did you get to be so self-important that your mail delivery is more important than the risk it exposes another person to?
Go look in the mirror - has the person looking back at you done everything they could to help resolve this problem, instead of exacerbating it?
Time to get over yourself, Kara. Maybe you were Southie Royalty once upon a time. Get used to your new status - you are NOBODY SPECIAL.

I stumbled upon this page, and cannot believe my eyes. Kara clearly suffers from self-deception, and does not realize her role in the problem. When no one agrees with you, at what point do you give up and apologize? Jason is clearly following the rules, and presents a solid response.
My advice to Kara: Shovel your driveway this winter. Chip away the ice yourself. Use a pitching wedge if you have to.
