Description

My property is at the end of Corbin Street in the Washington Park area. There is overgrown land behind a guard rail and surrounding my residential property which is owned by the city. This city of Richmond used to keep this property cut, but it has now been neglected for years and it is out of control. This land is not only unsightly but has caused damage to my property with fallen trees on my roof which I am currently paying for the renovation costs. Additionally, the stormwater drainage which was installed in the early 1970s has over grown, and causes severe water backup and flooding on the street as well as ground deterioration in my yard from storm water damage. This ground deterioration is a danger to any adults, children, or pets who may be in my yard. I am requesting the following to be addressed:
1) Cut down and removal of all trees, bushes, weeds from area behind guard rail and surrounding area.
2) Install the proper storm water drainage which can provide an environmentally safe and hazard free area.
3) Install fencing to separate the un-kept city owned land from the residential properties.
My neighbors and I have made complaints before but not through this channel, only phone calls. Hopefully this will better serve our needs as Richmond tax payers, property owners and neighbors.
