Description
We need a bridge to the greenway from the west end of Scotts Mill. This would be one good site if we can work out permissions to connect the greenway to the street. Another connection option is to put the bridge a bit to the east and connect with Willow Knoll Ct., but the slope of this connection may exceed ADA limits.

I have been in contact with Apex transportation planner Reed Huegerich who is supportive of the idea.
Mr. Huegerich advised that there may be substantial grading required for the Hawkscrest Ct. connection. For the blue Hawkscrest Ct. connection, we need to conduct a survey to see if it is feasible, so we need HOA permission to survey there, and upon a finding of feasibility, HOA permission for the greenway easement.
The other connections (besides the blue and light green ones), go between houses on *other* types of easements besides greenway easements. They offer the additional clearance that would be required for a greenway, but they also introduce foot and bicycle traffic to the area, so there is some impact to the homeowners.
We need to meet with the homeowners and arrange for the greenway easement, plus get HOA (and possibly Turnpike Authority) permission for those pathways.

I looked at the Hawkscrest Ct. easement with a neighbor who is also a greenway planner. He suggested we'd need asphalt down to the fence line and boardwalk from there. Plugging in those cost estimates brings us to about $86k, mostly boardwalk.
I wonder if we might get funding for this spur in a package with with the funding to connect the Beaver Creek Greenway with the Nature Park on Apex BBQ.
We're also discussing another alternative - possibly to clear trees and/or improve creek flow about the same time.
