This problem was reported in earlier See Click Fix postings some days ago and the item was subsequently marked as having been addressed and status was changed to “closed.” Not sure why the item was closed, as the problem still exists and is getting worse. It has also been reported to FPD, but the campsite is still there.

The City of Folsom is asking its residents and businesses to help be our eyes in the community. If you see something illegal or potentially harmful, please report it to the City.

Report homeless camps, trash or debris that might have come from a homeless camp, and abandoned shopping carts using SeeClickFix Folsom, the City’s online reporting system. Simply snap a photo and send your report via the City’s website or mobile app, and get an update once the problem is resolved.

We should keep reporting problems we see. But I think we also need to ask the city to explain why items such as encampments that we report get marked as having been addressed are actually not really fixed.

Example:
Lacks sanitation, fire danger, contamination of greenbelt, trash, junk, debris being discarded in public area, obstructing the public rights-of-way, accessibility to park bench, multiple stolen shopping carts.

Public nuisance is the interference with public property, or with a right common to the public. Public nuisance include pollution or interfering with the use of public parks and the creation of public health hazards. Common types of public nuisance include pollution, drug activity, explosives storage, and possession of dangerous animals.

Where is the City? Absent.

Reported submitted FPD. City should conduct interview with some of these new campers. Counseling/drug & alcohol refers. Perhaps unannounced parole sweep or two.

"camping" can't be legally prohibited but I don't understand why they can't be cited for all the other illegal activity?
