Description
The Albany City Forestry workers just removed a branch from this very dangerous tree that is on city property and overhangs the whole street near the corner of Fairview Ave and Oakwood St. My wife spoke with the DGS worker today who said he had a work order to only remove a branch; I just spoke with another DGS worker who was inspecting the tree for possible removal and he said it was on city property!! A car or a person walking his dog under the large branch that overhangs the sidewalk and street could be killed or badly injured if the rest of the tree falls down. I would urge the City Forester, Jay Lavigne, to issue a work order to take down the rest of this rotting tree (it's apparently infested with ants according to the DGS worker inspecting it) before a bad accident happens. A large branch fell on the homeowners van last summer and completely smashed the windshield and front of his van and a plumbers van that was in his driveway was also damaged when part of the tree fell on it also last summer. The City needs to take action soon before the public safety is threatened.
