This bridge is now closed for replacement. The existing bridge will be demolished and replaced. The new bridge is expected to open around the end of June or beginning of July.
Yea, could we get with it on this project? Apparently the contractor or whomever is working on this, knew just enough to tear the bridge up and then left. If you give me a couple of shovels and some bags of cement, I could have this finished faster than it's been already. Why does something so simple, take so long?
This was not a case of anyone (contractor or anyone else) doing something and then leaving. The bridge was literally falling apart (on its own). We were forced to close lanes on the bridge because it was no longer safe for vehicles to travel over.
The bridge is being demolished today and the new bridge construction will start shortly and is expected to be completed by about July 1.
