As of October 2 (five weeks since I reported this), the graffiti has not yet removed. I would hate to be the person who lives across the street from "@#$%" [that's not what's actually written on the fence] and has to see that word every day. The City of Toronto is usually quite responsive. Is the fault with Toronto Parking Authority, or with the City for not following up more aggressively with the TPA?

Hi, D Schachow. Since the TPA is a city agency, "closed" appears to mean only that 311 has passed the information along to them. That's been my experience when I submit complaints about graffiti on TTC property. For a faster response, you might try contacting the TPA directly, either at greenpcs@toronto.ca or (416) 393-7275.

The Fixer has reported that 311 closes a 'service request' in See Click Fix once they have forwarded the information. I disagree with this approach. The City graffiti inspectors should monitor the response to the 'service request' to ensure that it is being acted upon. If not, they should escalate their actions. The City's responsibility for enforcing its by-law does not end once it has assigned an ID number to a service request.

A City inspector e-mailed a told me TPA would have the graffiti removed by the end of this coming week. Once I have verified that that has occurred, THEN the issue can be closed.
