Description
New bike lane has a queuing problem. Bikers on Broadway waiting for the light to cross Galileo are lining up and blocking the path for bikers using the new bike lane to head across Broadway and onto Binney. A stop line and/or don't block the "box" markings need to be put down at this high volume rush hour intersection.

The "shark teeth" yield markings probably need to be converted to a solid "stop bar" with another bicycle signal added at the signal tree in the island. A "Bicycles Stop Here On Red" sign would also be helpful.
This issue also affects cyclists attempting to make a two stage left from Galileo Galilei Way onto Broadway (outbound), if cyclists continuing straight on Broadway take up the queuing space there is no room for a safe two stage left.

The protected intersection corner at this location is the first in the region - as such we expect there to be a window of time as people learn where to queue at the intersection. We will be observing how people use this intersection over the winter and early Spring periods and make changes if needed in the Spring or early summer. We will also use this input to inform any potential changes to the design for the other three corners of the intersection.
Thank you for your report.
