They don't care. It's north. We've been complaining about that stretch of road since they closed Havelock at 70th. It's been almost a year & that stretch isn't meant for the amount of traffic. Repairs for us have become very expensive but again, we're on the north side of town. The city has continually shown that they don't care about the north side.

This will go just like the last one. They will say it is in process, then will say it's not funded yet, but keep reporting the pot holes and they will fix them.

This road has been a disaster for over a decade and they refuse to not allow it a thru street for large trucks even with a divided 4 lane a mile away that isn't going through a residential neighborhood. Unless they are making a delivery to a business/job site north of O street, there is zero reason there should be any truck traffic on this road. It was not made for that type of traffic.

I agree that Lincoln public works doesn’t seem to care much about the north 70th area. The Havelock street east of 70th being closed for so long is absolutely ridiculous especially considering it’s fair time again and still not done. Also everyone knows 70th street between Freemont and Havelock is a disaster. City refuses to acknowledge the alley between 68th and 70th just north of Freemont and continuously just closes requests and gives impossible directives to change this because people have to vote on being billed extra. We pay an insane amount of taxes in this town but apparently only goes to certain areas but GOOD NEWS, they were able to raise our taxes even higher using our crappy streets as a tactic and still no changes. Yes, but the North side voted it down, & they actually have the nerve to wonder why. If they only want one side of town, then split off. The north side is tired of being forgotten.

Please stay tuned for developments and the opportunity to provide input to the Advisory Committee on Transportation as this citizen-led group, co-chaired by a person from northeast Lincoln, helps the City to prioritize additional street work that is being funded by the sales tax increase that was voted in this spring to fix our streets.

I am referring this particular issue back to Streets to see if there is anything short-term we can do to smooth this area out a bit in the meantime.

By state law, the sales tax increase will not take effect until October 1, and receipts will not be available until January, so work can start in the early spring.

The city is working on getting a project to repair 70th Street from Havelock to Fremont. We will continue to monitor this area and fill any potholes that appear. Thanks for helping to make Lincoln a great place to live and work.
