Construction at this particular bridge has not started. I drive it daily, and no orange barrels, nothing. By the way, the bridge is smooth enough, no holes that I see. A lot of patches but no holes. Crumbling concrete? It's black topped! Maybe the railings, yes. If structure was unsafe, it would NOT be open to travel on. It's old, it will be replaced, but work on it is not being done yet.

Construction has indeed begun with watermain work. You will notice barrels at the roadside, although no lane closures on Gratiot have occurred yet. There is also heavy equipment below the bridge for current watermain work. MDOT notified us that beginning yesterday, Clinton River Drive and Wellington Crescent would both be closed until November 22 between northbound and southbound Gratiot.

Perhaps you are referring to a different bridge. Construction has begun on this posting and the site is clearly marked with orange barrels. This bridge has been in desperate need for repair, it does not have a black topped surface. It is good to see this project has started, even if it causes temporary detours.

I am refering to NORTH bound Gratiot bridge over the Clinton River. The south bound one is very bad. I drive the NORTH bound Gratiot route every day sometimes more often. This one, while it will be fixed too, is better than the SOUTH bound bridge. OK?
