  Thank you for submitting your request to the City of Alameda Public Works Department. We are currently developing a new process for handling traffic calming requests. Each request will be scored based on various quantitative and qualitative traffic related criteria. The requests with the highest scores will then be added to a list (to be reviewed for the next 1-2 fiscal years). Requests that are not selected will remain in the pool for consideration at a later time. We will add your request to the pool so that it may go through the selection process.

  Since you are interested in bicycle and pedestrian safety issues, please note that the City will be updating its Bicycle and Pedestrian Plans starting in mid-2019. If you’d like to receive notices about opportunities to provide input on these updates, please send your email address to transportation@alamedaca.gov.

  In the meantime, we will reassign this case to APD so that they may enforce the area.

  The main cause of lack of visibility when turning that corner are the vehicles that park on Puddingstone. As you approach the turn, these vehicles block any sight line until the last moment. There is no parking allowed on that section, and the oversized vans and RV need to be ticketed for parking in the area.

  People come flying down the Sheffield & cut the corner - this should be a 3-way stop sign. Not that 80% of the drivers come to a full a & complete stop at Sheffield & Puddingstone - as well as Robert Davey Jr. Drive & Puddingstone.

  Raven - a request was put in to Parking Enforcement - the owners of these vans are absolutely defiant. They've been asked by the neighbors as well as the HOA not to park on the Puddingstone Egress/Ingress onto Robert Davey, Jr. & Sable Pointe. If they get a notice they call APD and are extremely hostile. Only suggestion is to keep calling on them. Very dangerous. Actually surprised the vans haven't been sideswiped because it's very narrow to try to negotiate between them and the center median. They should park their rarely used vehicles in their driveways or put them at Harbor Bay Storage.

  Street sweeper, I agree. The problem is cars come flying around off Sheffield and onto Puddingstone from both directions. Parked vans or not, a 3-way stop signed would alleviate this.
