Q. Please describe in detail the issue.
A. Yesterday there was a fatality at this intersection. The increase of traffic and due to major closings of feeder road and freeway exit has the Fay school traffic has made this intersection dangerous. Some times we have to wait 20 minutes just to move from memorial to widest on n. Post oak. and when we get to the intersection lots of traffic and Picard in the Middle of the street that have not been able to move to to the traffic. I have reported this before and unfortunately there was a fatality here yesterday. In the mornings there is too much traffic due to the school and also in the afternoons since the school has their one police and hives preference to their cars. Please do something about this.

I have complained about the 610/service road construction for more than a year. I've contacted the Mayor's office, TxDot, my city council rep, as well as State Representative and Senator. They all have become tone deaf to and simply ignored multiple calls and complaints. The management of this useless project has been hideous and inexcusable. For more than a year, exits and service roads have been closed and they (City of Houston, Metro, etc.) do nothing on a daily basis to mitigate it like traffic control and having officers manually control signals at affected intersections. If not a direct cause, I would bet that this traffic situation is a major contributing factor in this fatal accident. There have been countless accidents at this Woodway/610 intersection area over the past year all a a result of the gridlock caused by this construction. Someone should be held accountable for this! Why they have not worked 24/7 since the start to complete the project and eliminate the gridlock is criminal! This is government gone amuck at its very worst! I live right there and am sick of this.
To add insult to injury I walked down Woodway yesterday to see what was going on. A metro car and officer were a block from the accident making eastbound Woodway traffic do a u-turn because the street was completely closed. I asked him why he wasn't at the intersection of Woodway & S. Post Oak to direct traffic there. He arrogantly said he was just doing what he was told. Does everyone who works for the government just check their brain at the door when they come to work...??? This whole thing is punctuated by a bunch of incompetent putzes!

Thank you for explaining this better. This traffic has caused road rage in this area which is near a school. That school can’t be controlling or holding all the traffic and not moving it at the intersection. I feel the school also should have more than just their officers at their exit. I find this an irresponsible act from the authorities too. Also at 610 and woodway officers. should be moving traffic and woodway and memorial. I have also raised concern about this area for the past two years even I called to asked to remove the barricade of barrels like a month ago since they finished one project and didn’t even bother to open the right lane of woodway going west to move the traffic faster after they closed the feeder. Enough is enough. Authorities should be responsible as well as contractors. It was a sad scene yesterday seeing the body covered on a white sheet and i said the same thing, now there are officers here instead of before this person died. There are runners in this area and I hope nothing else happens and this gets taken care of.
So sad
