There is a sign prior to this turn stating it is illegal to drive on the shoulder of the roadway. But, a driver can not READ, Text, and safely get themselves past the cars in front of them. If there were tickets handed out daily for a week maybe they would see the flashing police lights, and get the message. This is such a dangerous spot. Seems to me this would generate some funds for Saratoga as well!

They installed 2 traffic lights there, for 2 lanes. This implied that someday they would build an official turning lane on the right-hand side. So when is that coming?

This is just one example of the traffic problems with Daniels road! County planning should study the the traffic flow for the entire road including sight distance and speed. This is a major thoroughfare for anyone trying to access the exit 15 corridor from the west! There was a traffic study preformed in the in the nineties when Stewarts and Bill Dake(head of county planning) were looking for an alternate truck route from the Stewarts plant!

texter, that intersection is a normal "T" style intersection and having TWO lights does not mean it's soon to be a turn lane. ALL intersections have TWO lights it to make sure the BLIND drivers see there is a light to be obeyed. There has always been TWO lights at each intersection unless it's a Blinking Light...please get a grip and stop ASSuming things. READ your driving manual you MUST obey road signs and it says DO NOT DRIVE ON THE SHOULDER :0)

It is illegal to drive on the shoulder but like with cell phone usage while driving, the broken law is not enforced.

Plate numbers? Are you serious? FYI: in the morning when 99% of the traffic is heading to the school, others need to get downtown to go to work. So yes, we make the "illegal" right turn. If you just did the same then you would have no issue either. Also, if parents made their kids take the bus instead of driving everyone of them to the middle school the traffic wouldn't back up to the CVS in the morning.

I while waiting to continue straight past Daniels at the light could very easily grab the plate numbers of the right turn using the shoulder offenders...and any officer in an unmarked car could do the same thing if they parked in the proper spot and had another officer pulling them over on Daniels Rd issuing the tickets for illegal use of the shoulder to obtain that right turn. I see revenue that is being missed all over the city but that's the city's problem. They complain about low budget but yet they are not willing to do the job to generate the funds. Oh well!

Why not have DOT fix this by painting a turn lane. The pavement is obviously wide enough to do so now illegally. Make it legal wth new paint. Can't possibly cost that much. The whole corridor was done poorly without adding center turn lanes all the way from Triangle Diner to Daniels Rd as well. Most issues on this road can be fixed with paint, not expensive new paving or traffic signals.

Yes - the SMART thing to do is widen the roads to allow for a safe flow of traffic in this area. The morning commute is CLOGGED, especially southbound. People need to get to work, and yes people get frustrated with the large amount of pokes who obviously are busy doing everything BUT focusing on driving .

With the huge influx of businesses and especially apartment complexes in that corridor, why not just do the right thing and improve the conditions

This has been going on for years the fact that someone would take the time to wright down plate number is really crazy! most of the traffic lights have cameras on them if the local police wanted to do something they would have done it just because they is a sign. doesnt make it wrong to turn right on red. thats what the DMV driving manual says that sign is the because if there was a accident it would have fault the the driver on the shoulder of the roadway
