Description
We need a stop light or stop sign on North Main St by Forest. There's been multiple accidents here coming from both directions and at all times of the day. One car hit the pizza place wall and another hit my neighbors car so hard it moved their car to the front of my house but turned in the opposite direction. There's been many other accidents. It's so bad I won't let my 10 yr old play in the front yard for fear he'll get hit. Alot of neighbors agree with me and one lady even takes pictures of every acccident & documents it. An innocent person is going to end up dead if something isn't done soon. School is just around the corner & many kids live in this area.

I do NOT want this "fixed".
Forest Avenue, already has a stop sign. N Main Street is a main through street with a state highway designation and the dominant street. Forest Avenue has about 10 houses that would generate neglible traffic during the day.
Anyone who lives in those houses knows (or should have known) that Main Street is not a residential street where you let small children play in unfenced yards without supervision.

One caveat: If ConnDOT does not agree that signal is necessary, Ansonia will have to agree to pay 20% of installation cost (80% will be provided by VCOG thru federal transportation funds) and 100% of operating (electrical) and maintenance costs.
