The gates are not to be locked since the dog parks are open year round. Unfortunately people don't always follow the rules and close the gate. Thank you for notifying us and using Hammond 311!

Look at the photo! The gate referred to is the Service/Emergency gate, not the entrance to the dog park for dogs and owners. That Emergency gate is always padlocked, unless used by the mowing crew or emergency vehicles. Of course, the entrance for the dogs is supposed to be unlocked in the morning and relocked daily at dusk.

FYI, we do not lock and unlock the gates in the morning or at dusk, they should remain unlocked.

The gate mentioned is the emergency/service gate, not the entrance gate to the dog park. The picture clearly shows the open emergency/service gate. Please verify the issue has been resolved before stating again the entrance gate is not to be locked. Has the emergency/service gate been securely padlocked, as it should be?

Although it is not necessary for either gate to be locked supervisor says he will put a lock on it today.

As stated earlier and as confirmed by the Director of Public Works, neither the emergency/service gate or the entrance gate is to be locked with padlocks.
