Description
I and many others have called in with the the utmost need for traffic lights at the intersection of Main Street and Elmwood Avenue. Even with the crosswalk that now has yield signs, drivers still speed thru the Main Street crosswalk while seniors, people with infants in strollers, etc anyone are walking in the designated cross walk. This has been an ongoing problem & I have witnessed and experienced this terrifying reality for over 20 years.

Service Request number W049485-050813 has been closed/completed. The Public Works Department advises that the location has been reviewed. The threshold traffic volume needed to consider the warrants for a traffic signal would not be satisfied.
Further, a traffic signal is already in place one block to the east which the pedestrians can use to cross the street. Main and Elmwood has the pedestrian crossing signs and the state law stop for pedestrians in crosswalk signs. These are in good condition and visible. Thank you
