Thank you for your comment. This matter has been advanced to the Traffic Dvision of our Engineering / Public Works Department for review and consideration.
The only times I can safely make a left hand turn is late at night when no one is on the road, or when there too much traffic and someone is nice enough not to block the intersection... The rest of the times I have to just go for it and cut someone off. I've seen a few accidents at that intersection too.
The Department of Engineering and Public Workshas completed a traffic study of this area. The results of the study have been posted the City's website under the Engineering/Public Works web page, here is the link: http://www.alpharetta-ga.gov/index.php?p=145
City staff has determined an increase of cars at this intersection warrant a signal modification. However, since SR 9 is under the jurisdiction of the Georgia Department of Transportation, we will need to obtain approval from GDOT prior to any modifications.
GDOT has issued the City a permit to modify the signal. Crews from the Department of Engineering and Public Works has completed the signal modification.
