I witnessed a rat running from Kelly road through yards and across my driveway into my garden . There are also rats running along my back fence from Kelly road to Upton streets. The rats are coming from Dana Park . Folks are putting plates of food waste in the barrels that the rats are eating then nesting in yards along Magazine Street. The trash in the park has to be collected more often and all the barrels and underneath the barrels need to be power washed every month or so . It's a real financial burden to the homeowners who pay exterminators when the city isn't taking responsibility for the food waste. Wondering, if closed locked compost bins for food waste might ease this problem?
