Description
For years we have corresponded with our councilors, the mayor, police dept, and city offices regarding speeding and overweight through-truck traffic on E Zia Rd, to basically no avail. The speeding continues through the blind curves near Acoma & E Zia intersection unabated. There is very rarely to never, speed limit enforcement between Acoma and Old Santa Fe Trail. E Zia has continuously been denied any form “traffic calming” through almost any excuse one can imagine while new instances of same have appeared on every type of street and throughout the city in other neighborhoods too numerous to mention! Each end of E Zia Rd (Old Pecos Trail & Old Santa Fe Trail) exhibits signs specifically prohibiting through-truck traffic of vehicles over 5 tons, yet every day there is a continuous parade of such vehicles accessing business and construction sites nowhere even near within this neighborhood. It’s well and truly past time for some type of action on these dangerous and quality of life issues for this RESIDENTIAL neighborhood.!
