I see there was a recent update and inspection for the property and since it was still out of compliance, it may be referred to our Department of Public Works. That determination will be made as soon as possible.
This issues was originally logged March 2017 and has not been resolved. Case id CC-2017-10454.
The property owner is ISBELL W TALMADGE at 87 PARK CIR NE Atlanta, GA 30305
We have that information, thanks! I see that that previous case was closed and I have initiated another via case #CC-2018-05151 and we will be inspecting briefly!
As of today, the property of 910 Longley Ave NE (case #CC-2018-05151) has a pending status, "Refer to Staff research" meaning we have confirmed the violations. It was last updated on 7/06/18 that we spoke with the owner and provided a timeframe to place the property back in compliance. A re-inspection will be occurring soon and this record will be updated.
This case has been updated since the last inquiry and it advises the notice or citation has been sent out to the responsible party and will be updated once we confirm it was received!
The case was obviously closed without being re-inspected. Do you have pictures from the re-inspection on 9/12? I am enclosing pics taken on 10/15/18. There are more tires and more garbage than when the issue was originally reported. The weeds, ivy and kudzu have also grown significantly during this time. There has not been any efforts made to maintain or improve this lot in many years.
For further information regarding this case, please contact this area's assigned supervisor, Officer Jones. He can be reached at ecjones@atlantaga.gov or 404.546.3837.
The assigned officer for this case is Officer Russell. For information regarding this case, please contact her directly at 404.780.3450 and jbrussell@atlantaga.gov. The supervisor is Officer Jones and can be reached at 404.326.7225 and ecjones@atlantaga.gov for further inquiries. We just spoke with the director who advised that you need to reach out directly to address your concerns.
Sorry for the inconvenience, I understand your frustration. Per the Deputy Director, the best course of action is to contact the officer handling the case directly using their City of Atlanta contacts. I understand you addressed this in the NPU meeting with Officer Russell. At this point, please reach out to Officer Russell's direct supervisor. I would suggest sending a follow-up email after you have made your call, this will ensure there is a record of your concern of file with the city. You can also address your complaint in person Monday- Friday 8 am to 5 pm at 818 Pollard Blvd SW or calling them directly at 404.546.3801.
This note was left on the most recent case issued for this property after it was closed advising it is in compliance:
"The Parcel for the reported address is unattainable from the roadway because it is located beyond the dead end of the street, into an undeveloped undisturbed wooded area. No violations can be viewed from the street view."
We will need more information regarding the current condition of this property before creating another case to ensure it is addressed accordingly. Please clarify the code violations that are present, thanks!
all the pics were taken from the street. for anyone that actually goes down the street close to the end, it is easy to see over-growth, kudzu, tires and garbage. But you have to go down to the end of the street, close to the property to actually see it.
We will submit another code violation for this property per case #CC-2019-02769 and if this case is closed with similar notations, we will be sure to forward it over.
Hello, Knox. Case #CC-2019-02769 has been closed after the initial inspection was documented advising no violations were found. This appears to be something related to the note that was left on the last case submitted for this property;
"The Parcel for the reported address is unattainable from the roadway because it is located beyond the dead end of the street, into an undeveloped undisturbed wooded area. No violations can be viewed from the street view."
Please use a different address so we can submit another case if this is still an issue.
The area is far from undeveloped and undisturbed. As Brian pointed out to Officer Russel and others, there is a working street light there and easy access to dump garbage and tires. The parcels are zoned R4-A and should comply with all residential code standards like all the other R4-A parcels in the neighborhood.

Good afternoon, Knox. Please advise us how you are making contact with the Code Enforcement Division with no response so we can better address this situation. We also need to ensure we are providing the most accurate contact information we have on file. Thanks!
I log my issues here and rely on ATL311 to track the issues until completion. In this case we have also walked the lot with Officer Russell and others as mentioned above. We shouldn't have to personally show Officer Russell or anyone else the issue in order for her to recognize them.
For clarity, the case number created for this current issue is CC-2019-00072 and we will continue to provide updates as requested. This case is currently advising there was a recent court date recorded and the case will soon be updated.
Good morning, Knox. This case has been closed advising the court has placed the property in compliance with images attached. Here is a link to review this case's details. https://aca3.accela.com/ATLANTA_GA/Default.aspx
You may also contact the Officer to request photos and additional information. Officer Russell can be reached at 404-780-3450. Hope this helps!
There isn't any information or pictures regarding this case on the link you provided. Officer Russell tends to close a lot of cases without inspecting them and without any action taken. I guess that is so her numbers look better. Not one tire or piece of garbage has been removed. None of the brush has been cleared. This case needs to be re-opened until it is resolved. We have personally walked Officer Russell down to this property and showed her the violations. We already do half of her job for her, we shouldn't have to do all of it.
Please advise us how you are making contact with the Code Enforcement Division with no response so we can better address this situation. We also need to ensure we are providing the most accurate contact information we have on file. Thanks!
As much as I enjoy these copy and paste responses, you already know the answer to this question. Scroll up and you will see 2 years worth of correspondences.
We understand your frustration and apologize for the inconvenience, Knox. The ATL311 contact center only ensures the appropriate department addresses the complaint by ensuring the appropriate department is notified based on the customer's concern. We have updated the case with every concern you have made through our department. If you are not getting the resolution you need we strongly suggest contacting the Officer's Supervisor or going in person to 818 Pollard and speak with a supervisor in person. Would you please elaborate on what ATL311 can do to assist you further in this process as we've contact Code Enforcement numerous times on your behalf?
you can re-open the case since there hasn't been any progress on the complaint. Code Compliance Officers should be held accountable. Obviously, closing tickets without resolution or inspection is a problem in the department or at least a problem with Officer Russel. Just as you require me to provide pics to prove a problem exists and prove a problem has not been addressed, CC Officers should be required to provide photographic proof of resolution prior to closing the any case. If CC officers didn't close the cases until they were actually resolved, think about how much time and effort that would save you and I.
We have been advised by Supervisor Eric Jones for you to directly contact him in regards to these properties on Longley Ave NW. He will be able to provide additional information on the status of these cases and how they can be resolved. Supervisor Eric Jones is expecting your call at 404-326-7225.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Supervisor Eric Jones is your point of contact for these issues and we have been advised to refer you to him for assistance.

Good morning, Knox. Code enforcement case #CC-2019-10270 that was created on 12/10/2019 is the new case for 930 Longley Ave NW. It is currently still in progress and we are reaching out to Code Enforcement for an update.

The incident has been open for over 2 years and still lots of tires, weeds, kudzu, brush and garbage on the lot. No efforts have been made to maintain this lot.
Good morning, Knox! This case has been last updated advising they are researching information for the owner. This case will be updated after that occurs. Officer Russell is useless. We have taken her to the lot more than once and showed her the growth, garbage, tires and scrap metal. When she gets back to work, she claims she doesn't see any of it. She has her cushy job that doesn't require her to do anything and the rest of us suffer.

Its been over 5 years and multiple site visits. Let's make some effort to resolve and close the case. All anyone has done is 'update' and comment here and that is definitely not working. I have even provided you with the property owner's name, address and phone number.
