If it is a crappy road for the people who live there, why not make every road past someones house crappy ?

I don't care who lives there, it is a public road. The people who happen to live on the street don't own it. Pave it so the rest of us can drive through. That's the price those people pay for living there.

it isnt paved because the people that do cut through usually go twice the speed limit.... pave the road, and people will go faster

People go twice the speed limit? Really? Is the speed limit 5mph because I think it would destroy your care if you went more than 10mph on this road. Pave this road so we can drive on it.
