Description

What is the status of the repaving project on No. Elm? It is presenting a dangerous situation. Both No. & So. bound lanes closest to the curbs have been repaved. The 2 inner lanes have been scraped & are much lower. The 2 curb-side sections have been paved well into the inner lane (about 1/3 over) & have no lane lines. As such, the traffic on the inside lane can very easily stray well over the center line. The uneven pavement heights are forcing cars traveling on the inside lanes to cross the center line.
I live on Sturbridge Lane & turn left into it off of North bound Elm. It happens to be in a curve on No. Elm. On 2 separate occasions over the past week, oncoming traffic had to swerve at the last second to avoid hitting me head on, as I was stopped waiting for traffic to clear so I could make my left turn. The inside, unpaved lane of So. bound Elm is inadvertently directing traffic dangerously across the center line. VERY DANGEROUS!!! This needs to be addressed ASAP before a serious accident occurs!!! Why is it taking so long to complete this project? Bill Koronis, 23 Sturbridge LN
