This issue has been around for awhile. Is anybody working on resolving it? I live in Murraysville and know that there are many intersections that are not very safe. My guess is the NCDOT is probably responsible for determining if the intersection needs safety improvements. If one or two individuals who are familiar with the particular problems at this intersection contact NCDOT about it then something may eventually get done.
One of the things you can do is look at the crash data which is available at North Carolina Department of Transportation, Traffic Engineering Accident Analysis System, Intersection Analysis Report.
