Whoa, dial back the outrage meter there Jim. Last time I checked, Seal Security is not clairvoyant, they respond to issues and this has not been, heretofore, an issue.

My understanding is that SeeClickFix is not the appropriate method of reporting public safety issues. Public Safety concerns should be reported directly to law enforcement or S.E.A.L. Security:

Since you're anonymous I don't know if you were present for all the back-and-forth leading to hiring SEAL, but I was there for much of it. Keeping our parks clear was one of the primary roles discussed and for a while appeared as though that might be the most we could expect from them and further, was held out as possibly being justification enough. Remember? Let's assume you were there.

As I have said in the meetings many times, the SEAL experiment has been nothing but a mystery from start to end. Are they patrolling our parks to prevent crime, vagrancy, or the start of a camp as promised? Does every officer have a K9 as we were promised? Do we see the maps that show their location every 10/15(?) minutes as promised? Does the location dot change color on the maps when the officer leaves the patrol car to patrol the park on foot with the K9 as promised?

If their time is indeed consumed being reactive and not being proactive, then let's have more discussion about security strategy and listen to what our new security director has to say.

Nobody will tell us what hours they are on-duty so most people feel it is a waste of time to call them to act reactively - leave them alone and hope they are acting proactively - doing things like keeping our parks clear.

If we screw around with this and let a camp start, we'll have another Turner Tent Camp (#2) and another ACLU lawsuit. If you don't think so, look around before you chide me - it has happened all over the country and if the mayor had been more proactive maybe we wouldn't have Turner Tent Camp #1.

Lastly, I hardly think my response above merits your condescending description of 'outrage.' I'll definitely sign on for dissatisfied and unhappy. Neither will I bother to reply to you as long as I don't know who you are. I'm sure you have my email if you want to disclose privately.
