First of all, the stop sign was put up for the traffic that is projected from the new development going in where Plaza 15 currently is. Originally they wanted a traffic light.

Secondly, the stop sign also helps in reducing the speed of many drivers. People coming from Wilton entering Gick Rd in Saratoga Springs have a tendancy to ignore the "posted" 30 mph speed limit signs. Also, those same people ignored the sign driving from Gick to Jones.

But again, the main reason for the sign is for the projected development. The rest of the benefits those are enjoying who live on Gick Rd are just icing on the cake. So stop your whining and stop at the Stop sign.

Because people are selfish and think everything revolves around their little world.

I live on Jones Rd and wish there were more stop signs. I have had a dog hit and all of my neighbors have had atleast one pet killed because motorists fly down this street.

I suggest they go a different way if they don't like the stop sign. I'm sure the residents of Gick Road wouldn't mind.

That is totally unnecessary...think there was something "fishy" in getting that sign there.

I live on Jones Rd and it is dangerous the way people drive on this road. Many people jog and bike on it, it is going to take someone getting killed to get more stop signs? Those of you who are apposed- have a tombstone mentality. You are the ones that will be the first to complain if someone gets hit or worse that something needs to be done.

It isn't realistic to have it fixed.

Stop whining and deal with it. If the state would put an access ramp on the Jones Rd. overpass, you wouldn't have to deal with the "necessary" stop sign.

Complain to the state.

What I would like to know is how do you know it is people from Wilton that are the only ones speeding, do you have abilities that I do not and you can see their address above their car as they drive? That is the most obsurd statement I have EVER HEARD!

I don't see where anyone said the speeders are "from" Wilton. I do see where they say the speeders are "coming from" Wilton and "going to" Wilton.

But the main reason for the stop sign is because it was a better solution than a traffic light at the Plaza 15 entrance; which by the way will be developed within the next few years with retail and condo apartments.

So a stop sign was a much better solution.

The sign is for a project coming in "2 years" does that make since to anyone "now" it doesn't to me, the sign serves no purpose other than it is a convenient police trap who sit by the "Plaza 15" entrance sign daily.

This forum is for actual problems. Not wanting to stop at a stop sign is not an actual problem that needs to be addressed.
