Description
In a neighborhood full of children, this abandoned home stands out as an eyesore and danger to our community. Broken glass, refuse everywhere, and collapsing walls make this not just an eyesore but an accident waiting to happen. The city has torn down several similar homes in this neighborhood - lets add this one to the list.

Slowly but surely neighborhood kids are tearing the house apart for firewood for bonfires... in a few years maybe just the foundation will be left? :-)
In the past year or so my street has become mostly abandoned homes - but this is the worst of the lot.

A see-click-fix reported house about a block away was burned down about the same time. I wonder if someone is using this site as a list and burning these places down on their own? The fire very nearly took out the neighboring home where a family with young children live.
This house had a storied past. A few years ago someone was trying to fix it up, but the neighbor kept stealing the bills and official notices that were sent with the intent to sabotage the efforts and, eventually, buy the home at a rock bottom price to demolish and add to his yard. This never happened, as the neighbor eventually moved away - after complaining loudly about the empty structure next door and how it was an eyesore.
The home was a victim of self destructive attitudes and short sightedness - and, I strongly suspect, arson. If the original resident next door still lived there, I would have a guess at who to blame.
Please, folks - don't sabotage someone's efforts, or take home demolition into your own hands. There are ways to go about this that don't endanger others and that don't contribute to the bad name this city already has.
The Pontiac fire department did an amazing job keeping this from spreading, but surrounding structures were still damaged.
