We had a tree on Ontario that we complained about 5 times over 2 years, including calls to the Mayor's office. It came down in a storm that caused lots of other problems and was hung up in power lines. So the police had officers blocking off the street for 2 days until Nat'l Grid could take care of it. It also tore the wires off my house that I had repaired at my own expense.
This is how the city saves money - because nobody counts the cost of the police being stationed there for 2 days or the cost of the wires on my house, or National Grid's emergency response.
