Its even more dangerous to allow children to disembark from a vehicle while the vehicle is sitting in a travel lane and could get struck or sideswiped. My pet peeve are the shuttles with children, they constantly sit right in the street, EVEN when there is AMPLE space in the parking lane to pull the hell over. If this is not a ticketable offense, it certainly should be. Yes it is inconvenient for other drivers, but it is DANGEROUS for the kids. Would I stop in the middle of the street, obstructing traffic to let my 80 year old mother out onto the street,. Hell no. And it is entirely unacceptable to do so with children.
