Description
All the metered city parking spaces in this area are occupied by construction trucks, which means regular citizens can't park in the area. When I managed to find a spot, my car was marked with a sticker by the Kendall Square parking, even though the marked sign said it was available for 4 hour parking and I only parked there 1 hour.

Thank you for reporting to us. Athenaeum St between First St and Second St is City-owned, patrolled and enforced by Cambridge officers. Between Second St and Third St is non-city and privately monitored.
The City meters on Athenaeum St have a 2-hour limit. Currently vehicles that stay longer than 2 hours at the same meter are ticketed for the overtime violation. We recognize that this, unfortunately, does not free up the spaces. Therefore, in the coming year, Cambridge will be moving towards "zone" parking which will require drivers to move out of a designated zone instead of just space to space. This change will make allow spaces to turn over more frequently giving better opportunity for all users to find parking throughout the day.
