Description
Lower part of Poole Street end towards Central Ave on the odd number side of the street. Very big root lifting. Some one was injured last year and and my 82 year old mother was injured yesterday. Fell flat flat on her face. This has been asked to be fixed before and nothing has happened. My mother's face and nose is a mess and I can send along a picture. Which I attached a picture of what happened to my mother. Sidewalks a meant for people to walk on. This is a disgrace and as taxpayers very disturbing. I hope to hear from you very soon or the Mayor will hear from us. Thank you.

Sidewalk panel was raised 6" higher than adjacent panel due to tree roots
Problem only presented itself after panels of sidewalk next to this one had been disturbed by the gas company "upgrade" done up and down wright Ave.
I had to report it 8 times and eventually only getting any action when pleading with the highway foreman.
He (or one of his men) came by and saw the extent of the problem.
Soon after the concrete was broken out and a wood form was made for the new concrete (although I was told was going to be hot top as that would be the best way to fix because likley prob would return due to roots and the hot top would be so much cheaper and easier to replace-which I had no problem with)
After several months of this now missing section of sidewalk with an orange cone it it's place I AGAiN began pleading with city officials
I had even had a city registered and bonded contractor there putting in a new concrete driveway entrance and hot top in and he offered to fill in the sidewalk. He suggested that I pay him to do it and then go after city for reimbursement-to me not a good idea. So I asked HIM to ask city if while he was there doing this other work -using BOTH concrete and hot top- if they would permit him to fill approximately. City engineer said NO.
So it continued to sit until OCTOBER
It then was finally filled w concrete.
HOWEVER the area was left a disgrace ! Concrete chunks left, concrete spilled onto granite curb and onto street and other existing concrete panels, pieces of wood strewn about and the tree area is now. Full 6-8" lower than the sidewalk is an OBVIOUS broken ankle waiting to happen
On November 10 2016 I took pictures and sent them to DPW director kerins who told me " I'll have someone there tomorrow"
Now December 7 and no one has done a thing- I informed me kerins who told me I need to be patient...
Patient? For real?
Started in April, now December
8 months
A section of concrete probably 6'x6'
I've had neighbors complaining to ME to get this fixed!?
What more could I possibly do?
It's truly a sad state in Medford this days...
I am sorry to hear about your moms accident
Let's hope none happen in front of my house...
