Somebody started a new one on this trash can. The previous issue for this same trash can was closed by the City of Raleigh. Whomever is responsible for City of Raleigh 3, is just closing issues.

The damaged trash can that was found at this location was not city property, but it was removed from the sidewalk by city crews. The City does not currently maintain public trash cans at this location.
FYI, the City is in the process of prioritizing trash can receptacle types and placements for its most-needed areas, taking into account litter, usage, proximity to other receptacles, staff time, etc. to best use our resources to keep downtown Raleigh clean. We may or may not install a receptacle at this particular site.
Personally, I would like a trashcan at that site. I used it for dog dook at least a few times a week. If you need citizen input on where there is litter and where trash cans would likely be useful, I am happy to help.
Thanks Autumn! Consider sending an email to teamdowntownRaleigh@raleighnc.gov with any thoughts you have about cleanliness/trash cans in downtown Raleigh.
