On the spot where obviously a tree once stood, the plant growth has been untended; it is now jungle-like and is growing over the sidewalk here and at many of the other such locations up and down 1st Street. The business owners involved haven't done anything. The areas are not just overgrown, they are unsightly, serving now as refuse dumps. All of them should be scythed and cleaned up before the snows come. Or it would be nicer if the city replanted young trees.
