Description

Last summer I requested that the city review the safety condition of a tree outside our household. At the time it was deemed that the tree limbs did not pose a risk to the house. i wanted to @#$% the entire tree not just the limbs but let it go.
Today I am writing to request another review, not only of the limbs but of the entire root. I’ve listed the issue below as well as added photos.

The root is breaking through the sidewalk making it impassible by pedestrians. Esp. those using a carriage or stroller, they are constantly being “bucked” by the roots and either go around into the street or force the carriage over the crack/root/bump.
3 years ago when we renovated basement contractors noted roots were tangled around water and gas lines
Gas comapny was doing upgrade work on the line and also noted the roots and they might be issue
Sidewalk was never repaired fully, only blacktop used not repair of cement.
The roots under the property are now causing damage to:
Driveway black top
Fence foundation
We rebuilt porch and contractor said not to rebuild fence due to tree damage
I removed driveway gate as post is effected and the gate would swing out to sidewalk with slight breeze.

I am very concerned about the safety of the people walking by our property and the property itself.

I understand to have a tree removed required a hearing so please let me know how to move this along. And if the city does not agree what is the process to be compensated for damages to property?
