The City of Oakland Public Works Department has received this issue. It is registered as service request #688848. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

This is not a pot hole. This a failed utility/ sewer lateral patch. This improperly filled hole and a attempt fill the sagging asphalt have also failed. The only way to fix this to remove all the improper material put in the hole all the way down to the sewer main and replace it with the right gravel. You can blame a cost cutting plumber and code enforcement who permmited the job , inspected the job and signed off on the job. Call code enforcement 238-3381 and ask them how they plan to get it fixed.
I tried calling and just been getting the runaround. They say I have to reach out to the contractor who did the work and the city isn't responsible for it
This is the problem with so many high dollar city employees please do my job for me. They just need to get out there DO THERE JOB. Code Enforcement signed off on this job now its time for them to deal with there mistake.
