Still dark! Kids still walking to bus in the dark! Any chance at progress on this?

I live in the same complex and am also concerned. There have been a few robberies on our block in the past year and worry about our kids, especially as we approach winter and shorter days

Still really dark. Bus stop got moved closer to our complex. But still really dark and no one seems to care. I think it is dangerous. We are a bit of an island with a construction site on one side and woods on two other sides. We could use some more lighting along Church.

This area really needs some light. I hope the city won't wait until there is an incident to do something.

I own a condo in the same complex and this is a very important issue for me as well. It would make a big difference to have lighting there for our complex as well as the larger community.

Please don't forget about us because we are on the edge of the city. We desperately need more lighting on Church. It's too dark and not safe for those who live here, the kids going to school, or pedestrians.

I agree that Decatur or the county should upgrade the lighting in this area of Church St that is heavily trafficked by cars traveling on a curve and pedestrians & children using the dark sidewalks to catch school buses & walk to Decatur attractions.

It is very dark on at the end of Church St.and is dangerous for pedestrians in the early morning and evening hours. Improved street lighting would improve the overall safety of those, many of them children, who are out during these times from falls, robberies, and vehicle accidents.

Since the city made us an island with all the construction around us, the LEAST they could do it put in some lighting. We put up with daily shaking of our houses, LOUD construction noise, dust everywhere and it is way darker then it used to be because for now there are no houses around us. When the houses are done we will be in content shadow b/c the houses they are putting in are taller than ours and only a few feet away.
Really some street lights would be too much to ask for?
Additionally is it s the City Schools who decides what time our kids have to get on the school bus. The city really should ensure adequate lighting.

I finally got a hold of someone at the city and this has been remedied. However, I am not sure they actually look at this system. Street light is very helpful.
