I would recommend reporting this as "on street parking" if the sidewalk is blocked again. Those issues are directed automatically to the Burlington Police parking unit. They have an excellent response time to on street parking complaints and this type of violation fits best with that category of reports.

Hello and thank you for the prompt response... possibly too prompt? I am new to using this service, but it appears that a decision was made based upon observations that occurred over four hours before the business even opened (images posted at 11:23am and business opens at 3:30pm). Not even the business staff were likely there at that hour. Of course the lot was vacant. Surely, by the lay of the land, the observer did see that violations are likely occurring multiple times per hour. I observed two violations of unoccupied vehicles at this location on my walk home from work the same day this issue was deemed "closed". Is the suggestion really that residents should be calling the police department multiple times per day? If so, that seems an inefficient use of police resources when another form of city action is likely available. Thank you.

You are not required to call the Police Department parking unit but they are the city employees who are paid to enforce parking violations.

We were merely pointing out the most efficient use of SeeClickFix. We encourage you to use seeclickfix but instead of reporting "sidewalk" as the issue title, if you report the next violation you see as "on street parking" as the issue category, it will go to the City Department that is designated for parking enforcement complaints.

Sidewalks as a general category get routed to the Department of Public Works. They do repairs of sidewalks. Our Code Enforcement message in closing this was an effort to get your complaint answered more quickly by getting it to the right department immediately upon reporting.
