Description
The posted speed limit in the Village Mill Neighborhood is 25 MPH. However, oftentimes when I am out walking with my family our neighborhood, I see cars going faster than the posted speed limit, which is especially concerting when they come around some of the corners. My wife often complains of being tailgated and honked at (including this morning) if she does not drive faster than 25 MPH. Perhaps some sort of police presence or traffic calming measures would be helpful.

As a resident in this neighborhood, I can confirm this is a serious problem. We are a cut-through to the 285, Perimeter College, and Dunwoody High School, among other common destinations. As a pedestrian, I've nearly been hit numerous times by people speeding around blind corners, and as a driver, I have been passed several times by other cars.
This is a residential neighborhood full of families with young children, as well as a walking route to Dunwoody Elementary. Let's not wait until someone is hurt to take action.

This issue is obviously not new. There were speed bumps installed on Village Creek DR to slow people down years ago but it hasn't done much to deter the cutters. Then cars started driving into people's yards to avoid the speed bumps. Now residents have strategically placed large stones to prevent that.
I have witnessed tons of speeders who have no concept of the notion that you should use caution when passing by small children who can very unpredictably run into the street. I, too, have been passed while driving through the neighborhood -between speed bumps- Which took some insane acceleration on his part. I, too, have been aggressively tailgated on numerous occasions and been witness to the rudeness that prevails on a daily basis by people commuting through our neighborhood.
A little enforcement would be nice - and maybe some communication with the schools to remind their drivers to obey traffic laws and education on the dangers of speeding through residential neighborhoods. I would also like to know how we can report an aggressive driver? I obviously can't clock speed but I can grab the plate of those who pass me while I'm driving the speed limit or those that tailgate me aggressively.
I'm sure there are some solutions available and would love the City to take it seriously. It's obviously a symptom of a larger infrastructure problem that needs to be addressed while development continues in Dunwoody. The problem is worse when school is in session.
