As part of the 2014 Tree Maintenance Program, tree grates that are located in Midtown that represent trip hazards or that are negatively affecting the growth of trees are being removed. However, this tree grate cannot be removed, because sufficient space does not exist to travel the sidewalk safely without the grate. Midtown Alliance is looking in to ways to expand the opening to allow more room for the tree to grow within the existing tree grate. This issue can be closed at this time, but will be kept on file as a candidate for expansion at a later date.
