Description
City garbage trucks use Westview, Yardley, and Selwyn to take short cuts to get to and from Victoria Park and St Clair E on non collection days. This causes unnecessary noise, wear and tear, and traffic on our quiet residential streets. These trucks should be using major arterial roads.

Thanks for the comment!
Sloane is actually classified as a minor arterial road, so you might have difficulty getting action on this. But I understand your frustration!!!
What you can do is see if there are any "no heavy trucks" signs on Sloane. If so, then it is a violation under the Highway Traffic Act for trucks over 5 tonnes to use this road unless they have a waybill or work order that shows business on that street. If Sloane does have these signs then you indeed should take action.
The best way to get action is to email Denzil Minnan-Wong directly. Not only is he your ward Councillor, but he is also the Chair ofthe Public Works Committee. That is, he's the boss of all City truck drivers. When you write to Denzil, include specific observations. Record the truck unit number direction and time.
The other thing you can do is write to Chief Bill Blair and ask him to enforce the No Heavy Trucks law. I find the most effective way to communicate with the Chief I'd old fashioned Canada Post snail mail.
Hope tho helps! This approach has worked on Westview. The police came last week and ticketed city trucks.

Thanks to the help of our local ward 31 Councillor Davis, the problem has largely stopped. It does occur from time to time when drivers who are new to the area start.
However. The problem of traffic infiltration ninth neighbourhood still exist.
Councillor Davis is organizing a Topham Park committee to study traffic infiltration problems and suggest solutions.
